Meet the team

James Grover
Director

James began his estate agency career with a corporate agency 2002, later working with Michael English in Langport when the company was Barons Property Services. Having grown up in Keinton Mandeville, High Ham and Drayton, James is passionate about the area, and a strong supporter of local businesses and extolling the virtues of Somerset life. James says: “Being able to help clients find the right home is a real privilege. if people are new to the area it is easy for me to explain why they should choose this area above any other. I feel very lucky not only growing up here but also now being able to work and raise my family here”. When not in the office James can be found walking around National Trust parks with his two boys and enjoying a pint in Eli’s.

Emma Grover
Director/Office Manager

Emma works closely with our clients in order to help guide and support them through the conveyancing process, providing regular and comprehensive updates on the progress of their sale and purchase. Having moved a number of times Emma is knowledgeable, determined and also very understanding and empathic. Emma also oversees the running of English Homes, encouraging the team to strive together as one whilst building on their individual strengths and passions. Having grown up in High Ham and always lived locally Emma really enjoys being a part of the local community and loves taking her young children on adventures through the countryside.

Aileen Clarke MARLA, MNAEA
Lettings Manager

Starting in sales and later progressing to lettings, Aileen has worked in both corporate and independent agencies, bringing to the role over 19 years of award-winning experience and ever-growing wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. As a member of Propertymark Aileen prides herself on being able to support both landlords and tenants through every aspect of the rental process. In her spare time Aileen enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and to walk or being taken on long walks by her massive Rottweiler.

Kevin Jenkins
Sales Manager

Having been in the industry for over 20 years, the majority of which has been spent locally with a corporate agency. Now being a part of our independent agency, Kevin is excited at the opportunity of working alongside our enthusiastic sales team and incorporating his philosophy and success strongly based around customer support. At English Homes we always believe in going the extra mile to help our clients. Kevin has been recognised with many awards including Chairman's Award for the South West and The ESTAs Gold award for the South West which was based on customer feedback and is voted by both buyers and sellers. Whilst not at work you may see him running around Somerset, that is in between eating chocolate and cake, which is his downfall, or being dragged around by his rescue dog, Missy. Now that Kevin is working in Langport you never know you may even catch him at Huish gym!

Helen Atkins
Lettings Consultant

Helen's role includes accompanying prospective buyers around properties and dealing with the daily enquiries coming into our busy award-winning office. Helen is also a key member of the sales progression team keeping clients up to date throughout the selling and buying process. We are pleased to welcome Helen as our newest member to the team, having previously worked in hospitality and customer service we can already see the benefits of having her as part of the English Homes team. Helen has lived locally all her life and has enjoyed bringing up her family in the local community. In her spare time Helen enjoys Pilates and walking.

Brian Carpenter
Senior Sales Consultant

Brian works part time as our property consultant. He joined the team in 2019 and brings with him 25 years of knowledge and experience in estate agency. Like all members of the English homes team Brian is friendly, informative and supportive throughout the conveying process. In his spare time Brian is a very keen gardener and also enjoys cycling and walking.
